MINUTES OF COMMITTEE MEETING

3. BUSINESS OF THE MEETING 

  1. National Tree Day FOBC's involvement was a great success, with 77 volunteers attending including approx 30 students from Ruyton Girls School (Hawthorn). 

   Approx 1800 plants were planted in 3 areas (Ruyton Girls; Bob Stensholt; Kevin Edgar)

  1. A generic Job Safety Analysis (JSA) had been prepared by Robert for all FOBC activities Tree Day and had been signed off by both Melbourne Water and Boroondara Council.
  1. During the past 5 weeks (including National Tree Day and Arbour Days) approx 3700 plants had been planted.
 
  1. A "Gardiners and Scotchmans Creeks Waterways Plan" had been prepared by Melbourne Water in 2006, and a DVD copy of it has been obtained by Robert per Albert Toet. 
  1. Boroondara Council Meeting.  Robert has arranged with Janyce McMurtrie for a meeting with Melbourne Water. This meeting will be convened in the next two weeks.
 
  1. Craig B's $200.  Plants on hold waiting for the temporary fence to be removed and top-soil provided to cover over the clay from his excavations.  Robert is arranging for Adrian to drill holes for planting along the fence line.
 
  1. The invoice for $1636.75 from VINC for plants relate to Arbour Day, and will be forwarded to Wattle Park Primary School to apply against the grant received by them.
 
 
 

OTHER BUSINESS 

As previously discussed, Eleanor has prepared about 21 small paintings which she will be donating to raise funds which could be used for nesting boxes.  Extensive marketing/advertising will be required to maximise this generous fund raising activity, which is still on hold until the meeting with Council and Melbourne Water. 

FINANCES

The Treasurer provided a Balance Sheet and an Income Statement for the year to date.

Cash and near cash amounted to $9291.72, of which $9,000 is a reserve for future planting.
