3. BUSINESS OF THE MEETING
Approx 1800 plants were planted in 3 areas (Ruyton Girls; Bob Stensholt; Kevin Edgar)
Overall supervision was by Robert B, Barrie G, and Albert Toet, and time was spent with volunteers with training and safety issues.
Boroondara Council (per Adrian) has
since provided jute mat squares to protect the new plantings.
Both organisations have now effectively
covered themselves re FOBC activities.
The area of Back Creek of relevance to FOBC is referred to as the "Nicholsdale Road Drain"
A more appropriate name for this area was suggested as "Brierleys Brook".
The area of relevance to FOBC South
is referred to as "W Creek Drain" ie Drainage Reserve.
OTHER BUSINESS
As previously discussed, Eleanor has
prepared about 21 small paintings which she will be donating to raise
funds which could be used for nesting boxes. Extensive marketing/advertising
will be required to maximise this generous fund raising activity, which
is still on hold until the meeting with Council and Melbourne Water.
FINANCES
The Treasurer provided a Balance Sheet and an Income Statement for the year to date.
Cash and near cash amounted to $9291.72,
of which $9,000 is a reserve for future planting.
