MINUTES OF COMMITTEE MEETING

Minutes of meeting May 12 2003 at 7.30pm held at the home of Eleanor Stephenson in Weafgreen Crt

Present: Robert Brierley, Chris Walta, Barrie Gallacher, Eleanor Stephenson, John Cott

Adjustments to the minutes of the AGM: Apologies to include John and Susan Cott

Website amendments: www.frogs.org.au and www.frogs.Melbournewater.com.au

Correspondence: Letter form Melbourne Water approving grant of $6400 ($6200 for plants and restoration work and $200 for printing and administrative costs)

Planting: All left over plants (50) have now been planted to replace plants lost over the summer.

Pathway: We are still awaiting the work on the pathway completion that was to be done by June 2003. Robert will contact Heinz to remind the Council.

Newsletter: Next newsletter to be prepared after the completion of the work on the pathway. John Daley (picture framer in Through Road) is happy to sponsor the newsletter to help cover costs and also able to help with tools that may be needed to do some of the work in the creek.

Membership: Membership list needs to be updated. Check with Bob for the list of renewal names. John to check if he has a copy at home. When the list has been amended, members of the committee to split the lists between them to follow up member subscriptions for 2003. A half page notice to be distributed for the Working Bee on May 18. Robert to distribute copies for delivery.

Treasurers report: Eleanor presented for Bob - $148 income for the month. $103 baked for the raffle and another $54 waiting to be banked.

Business: Melbourne Water has carried out willow removal as planned and did the work on channelling the creek bed. The work was redone where necessary after the heavy rain this month. MW will also lay some jute matting and the plant aquatics in the next week. By the end of May they will spray weeds on the banks.
Council is providing mulch in time for the July Working Bee.
Planting should be possible also in July.
Paul Delahunty to be approached by Robert to leave logs that can be used to shore up slopes at the site.

Working Bee: continue the weeding at Cornell St end and Quinton Rd end. John to bring spraying equipment Double check wasp nests before the work commences

Plants for National Tree Day: Barrie to investigate what plants to be obtained, where they are to be purchased from and the drill that has been used previously
